Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 July 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Covey ("Covey", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Covey mobile application or related services (together, the "Service") you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We verify age via government ID. Submitting a false ID or impersonating someone is a criminal offence and a permanent ban.
- Covey is a women-only space designed for safety in numbers. Accounts found to misrepresent gender will be removed.
- You must not have been previously banned from Covey, nor use the Service if you are barred from doing so under any applicable law (including the UK, EU or your country of residence).
- You confirm that you are not listed on any sex-offender register or subject to a court order that prohibits you from using social or dating services.
3. Your Account & Verification
You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity on your account. We may require selfie + photo ID verification at signup and again at any point if we have reasonable concerns about authenticity, safety or compliance.
4. Subscriptions & Payment
Full access to the Service requires a recurring subscription (currently £2.99/month), billed by Apple or Google through their in-app purchase systems. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancellation and refund requests are handled by Apple/Google under their store policies. If your verification is rejected, your subscription will be auto-refunded.
5. User Content & Licence
"User Content" means anything you post, send or upload on Covey — profile photos, posts, comments, chat messages, community content, and so on. You retain ownership of your User Content.
By submitting User Content you grant Covey a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (for technical purposes such as image compression and resizing), publish and display that content solely for the purpose of operating, providing and improving the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where retention is required by law or to protect the safety of others.
You warrant that (a) you own or have all necessary rights to your User Content, (b) it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, and (c) it complies with these Terms and our Community Guidelines.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You must not post, send or upload any content, or use the Service in any way, that:
- Is unlawful under UK law or any law that applies to you, including the Online Safety Act 2023, the Communications Act 2003, the Malicious Communications Act 1988 and the Protection of Children Act 1978.
- Is sexual content involving anyone under 18 (CSAM), grooming, sexual extortion ("sextortion") or solicitation of minors. We report such content to law enforcement (UK NCA / NCMEC) without notice.
- Is non-consensual intimate imagery, upskirting or voyeurism.
- Promotes, glorifies or facilitates terrorism, serious violence, self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
- Is hate speech or targets a person based on a protected characteristic.
- Harasses, bullies, stalks, threatens or intimidates any person.
- Discloses another person's private information ("doxxing") without consent.
- Is spam, phishing, fraud, romance scams, MLM recruitment, or commercial solicitation outside the Service's intended use.
- Infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
- Attempts to circumvent moderation — including evading bans by creating new accounts.
- Interferes with the Service technically (scraping, automation, reverse-engineering, denial-of-service attempts).
See our Community Guidelines for the full list of behavioural rules.
7. Reporting, Moderation & Enforcement
You can report any profile, message, post or community at any time from inside the app. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and may result in: a warning, content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent ban. We operate a three-strike warning system, but we may skip directly to a ban for serious or illegal conduct.
Where we ban you, your email address may be added to a blocklist to prevent re-registration. You can appeal any decision by emailing support@coveyapp.co.uk.
8. Copyright (DMCA / UK CDPA) Notices
If you believe content on Covey infringes your copyright, send a takedown notice to support@coveyapp.co.uk including: (a) your contact details, (b) identification of the copyrighted work, (c) the URL or in-app location of the infringing content, (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised, and (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf. We will remove infringing content promptly and may terminate repeat infringers.
9. Real-World Meetings — Disclaimer
Covey introduces people for sport and fitness. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, online and in person. Verification confirms identity, not character — we do not perform criminal background checks. Always video-call first, meet in public, tell a friend where you're going, and trust your instincts. See the in-app Safety Centre for full guidance.
10. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Deletion wipes your profile, photos, posts and chat history from our systems (subject to limited legal retention — see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, for breach of these Terms or for any conduct that we reasonably consider harmful to other users or to Covey.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Covey disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular match, friendship or outcome will result from its use.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Covey, its officers, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service — including any conduct or content of any other user or any third party. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the amount you have paid Covey in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under UK law, such as for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Covey from any claims, damages, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings locally.
